Descartes was born in La Haye en Touraine ( now Descartes ), Indre-et-Loire, France. After graduation, he studied at the University of Poitiers, earning a Baccalaureat and Licence in Law in 1616,in accordance with his father's wishes that he should become a lawyer.
Descartes is often regarded as the first thinker to provide a philosophical frame work for the natural science as these began to develop. he attempts to arrive at a fundamental set of principles that one can know as true without any doubt. Initailly, Descartes arrives at only a single principle :thought exist. Thought cannot be separated from me, therefore, i exist. Most famously, this is known as cogito ergo sum ( I think therefore i am ). Therefore, Descartes concluded, if he doubted, then something or someone must be doing the doubting, therefore the fact that he doubted proved his existence."the simple meaning of the phrases is that if one is skeptical of existence, that is in and of itself proof that he does exist"

Cogito ergo sum, Je pense donc je suis, i think therefore i am by Rene Descartes, is the simple phrase with lots of meaning by other people… Some think that I think therefore I am as wondering someone exist or not according to ‘I’. This “argument” has been used widely by philosopher which is the Cogito is referring to the principle virtually everywhere else and something to be doubt. To argue that the cogito is not a syllogism, one may call it self-evident that "Whatever has the property of thinking, exists". In plain English, it seems incoherent to actually doubt that one exists and is doubting.
I think therefore I am, I remember this statement being one of lectures topic by Madam Suzy design history class. It was the existential “which came first” story…something like, if I think I am hungry, I’ll eat, I think if im young, therefore im young forever :P Some jokes phrase come out from my mind. For me, in the philosophy term it is about if there is nobody in this world, nothing exist on this word…do we exist?? Thinking there is doubt, feel like we are far away from God. If ‘I’ think that I exist therefore I am here as the real self, as the self that is constituted by the act of thinking, and as the first person perspective.
